Saratov region in ancient times

The first traces of human presence on the territory of our land belong to the Paleolithic (stone age). The Paleolithic is the epoch of the formation of man and human society. In the Palaeolithic people have gone from an APE-like ancestor to modern humans. They learnt to produce at first a primitive and then more sophisticated stone tools, mastered fire, settled in the vast spaces of Europe and Asia up to the Arctic circle.

The Paleolithic coincided with the increase of humidity, abundant rainfall, especially in winter, the common cold. Appear powerful glaciers. The solid layer of ice up to three kilometres thick have covered vast territory in Europe and Northern Asia. In such harsh conditions people had to survive only outside the zone of glaciation.

The Paleolithic era spans nearly 2.5 million years and is divided into early and late. So what time on the banks of the lower Volga were the first people? For a long time scientists found it difficult to answer this question. Single, chance finds of Paleolithic time not made clear. The lower Volga region remained a “white spot” on the map of Paleolithic.

Until recently, the earliest monument of the prehistoric human stay in the Lower Volga region were found and studied from 1952 to 1954 by archaeologist S. N. Zamyatin Paleolithic Stoyanov beam Dry Mechetka on the Northern outskirts of Volgograd. Parking was arranged on the right Bank of the river in ancient times on the bottom of this beam. During excavations found traces of four large fireplaces, situated in one line, and about a dozen small stains in places. The fire was found stone tools and the debris (waste of manufacturing) and animal bones. Continue reading

This finding is evidence that the ancient people could move not only on land, but could to make sea journeys. On the island of Crete, the people of this era arrived, most likely, not from the African continent, and European. Archaeologists have found in America the last in the history of the Earth dinosaur

A group of scientists from Canada announced the discovery in Colorado of the remains of the hadrosaur, which lived after 700 thousand years after the mass extinction.

The General view is that the dinosaurs on Earth became extinct due to the fall of the asteroid on the Yucatan Peninsula. While there are many other theories which claim that the blame not the asteroid. Jetta Keller (Gerta Keller), the expert from Princeton, with their counterparts here for the first year finds more and more evidence that the death of the dinosaurs to blame for the fall of other cosmic bodies (the theory of “multiple drops”). The last drop in the dispute was the latest discovery in the history of planet dinosaur, according to the portal Membrana.

It was made in the formation hell Creek (Hell Creek Formation), which, incidentally, is only 13 centimeters below the K-T boundary (the layer of soil below the fall of the asteroid), is another proof of the correctness of the supporters of the transient of destruction of dinosaurs and wrong, scientists who adhere to notions of slow extinction.

The remains, perhaps, “the last flightless dinosaur in history” is a frontal horn 45 centimeters in length, which probably belonged to a Triceratops or torosaurus.

In their article, the authors write that their will nakedcapitalism the existence of the so-called three-meter gap. This zone (3 meters below the K-T boundary, corresponding to approximately 100 thousand years) known that it almost didn’t find the remains and footprints of dinosaurs. It was used by the supporters of the theory of gradual extinction as a proof of the correctness of his conclusions. Continue reading
