Glory and pride Perovskogo district — the ancient fortress with time has to be restored. Currently on the territory of the fortress archaeological excavations are carried out. According to their results, the specialists will create a restoration project.
Fortress Borovichi wanted to restore for a long time, however, forces the district to address the issue is unrealistic. In the field, and even in Moscow, where support for the applied Museum workers, local historians and other interested residents to help were not taken. At all levels sounded the same answer: no money. But the case was moved from a dead point. Until allocated funds only for the restoration project, reports Pskov News line.
The tender for the works won the St. Petersburg company CJSC “First Peterhof restoration studios”. To create the project, required archaeological excavations. Together with the archaeological center of the Pskov region the studies conducted by scientific staff of the St. Petersburg Institute of history of material culture Russian Academy of Sciences Sergei Popov and Zoya Rumyantsev.
Already revealed early walls of the fortress, discovered, photographed, sketched and described the first finds, mostly fragments of bones of domestic animals, fragments of clay pots and ceramic ware.
